What’s on your heart?
Take few minutes to quiet yourself, center, invite God to sit a while with you and speak to you during this time of silent meditation.
Be open with God on how you come before Him today. (Use 2-3 descriptive words; for example: Lord today I come worried, tired, depressed, happy, sad, in a hurry, confused, angry, etc.)
Scripture to meditate upon:
“I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.” Isa 42:16
(Perhaps read the scripture couple of times.)
Don’t try to immediately assign meaning to it but wait on God and the Holy Spirit’s guidance.
What are possible areas that may be blinding you?
Is it the pressure of having to buy numerous meaningful gifts, orchestrate the perfect family Christmas dinner, the countless social commitments, not knowing how to begin to make the birth of our Savior real to yourself and those you care for, or somehow you have gotten off the track leaving your relationship with God lifeless?
God says I will lead the blind and turn the darkness into light. How does that make you feel?
Before you enter into the newness that light and sight bring, His promise is to smooth the path before you. What thoughts and feelings this promise arise in you?
What "I will not forsake you" means to you?
Can you recall a time when you felt forsaken by someone even God?
Offer God the feelings associated with that instance.
Can you embrace His promise and believe that God hasn’t and will not forsake you?
Offer God all that has come up from the meditation on His word today.
Into My Heart:
“Let nothing disturb you.
Let nothing make you afraid.
All things are passing.
God alone never changes.
Patience gains all things.
If you have God you will want for nothing.
God alone suffices.”
In prayer express your gratitude towards God.
Walk with God and glorify His name.

My prayer is that this will be a place where you find hope and nourishment for your soul.
