Dear friends, I hope you were blessed at the completion of Day 1 of “Lord, Can We Talk?”. It’s a gift to have a time alone with the Lord allowing Him to take us on a soul trip.
Here is the meditation for Day 2 of this Advent journey.
What’s on your heart?
Take few minutes to quiet yourself, center, invite God to sit a while with you and speak to you during this time of silent meditation.
Be open with God on how you come before Him today. (Use 2-3 descriptive words; for example: Lord today I come worried, tired, depressed, happy, sad, in a hurry, confused, angry, etc.)
Scripture to meditate upon:
“But I have prayed especially for you [Peter]; that your [own] faith may not fail; and when you yourself have turned again, strengthen and establish your brethren.” Luke22:32
(Perhaps read the scripture couple of times.)
Don’t try to immediately assign meaning to it but wait on God and the Holy Spirit’s guidance.
What thoughts and feelings arise when you think of Jesus having prayed for you?
The verse we meditate upon today is taken from the account about Jesus predicting Peter’s denial. Do you remember a time when it seemed like your faith has failed?
Reflecting back, what emotions come to the surface?
What and who helped you turn around?
And what was it like when you returned to Him?
Can you recall a time when you had the opportunity to strengthen/establish a friend in the same way you were?
How did that feel?
Offer God all that has come up from the meditation on His word today.
Into My Heart:
Rest in the truth that Jesus is praying for you.
In prayer thank God for this special gift.
Walk with God and glorify His name.
You just finished reading Day 2 of "Lord, Can We Talk?". Share your thoughts and comments.
My prayer is that this will be a place where you find hope and nourishment for your soul.
