The Holidays – for most of us that means sharing a meal with family and friends. While at the table you have probably noticed that a parent feeds the children first. I delight when my kids enjoy the food that has been served and when they ask for more my joy is complete. And then there are those times when kids are just not interested in food. Friends, games, candies and all sorts of projects pull on them to fill the hunger that nutritious food was meant to satisfy. As parents our hearts sink, we pull and chase with a spoonful just so we get a morsel of good food in them.
As a father, God wants to feed His children first. But how often do I/we throw away the “bread” that gives life?
Each day comes with new demands and challenges. Things and people we tend to. Responsibilities that pull on us.
Today and every day after may we remember to take in the “nutritious food” that truly satisfies.
And He said to her, “Let the children be fed first, for it is not right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.” Mark 7:27
My prayer is that this will be a place where you find hope and nourishment for your soul.
