Fitted With Readiness
Let’s look into what it means to stand firm with our feet fixed with spiritual readiness.
It srtats with turning our hearts toward God. This demands from us to:
· Abandon our idols. If our hearts’ desire is for the Lord we must let go of the gods that take away from our true faith and abundant life with Him. (1Sa 7:3 and 2Ch 19:3)
· Cleanse God’s temple. The scripture clearly tells us that as believers our bodies are temples of the living God. We represent Him and the church. (1Co 6:19, Gal 2:20, 1Pe 2:5, and 2Ti 2:21) If our temples are not in order that means we have not allowed the Holy Spirit to take complete residence and clean up the accumulated mess. Mess causes a lot of stress; it overloads the mind with extra items for our “To Do” lists. A strained mind is not at peace and struggles to make first-rate choices. By inviting the Holy Spirit to take control over our hearts our temples are cleansed continually. A clean temple is fresh, welcoming and relaxing. We have life and peace. (Ro 8:6)
· Return to the Lord. We are to seek His wisdom on the matters of life, and find the answers in God’s word.(Lk 1:17; 79)
Spiritual readiness leads to the promised gift of peace. (Isa 48:18, Isa 54:13, and Eze 34:25) It is a gift from God that is bestowed through Jesus. (Isa 53:5, Jn 14:27, and Jn 16:33) We are commanded to seek and cultivate this gift so we may live a life that is successful and in harmony with God. (Job 22:21, Ps 34:14, 2Co 13:11, and 2Ti 2:22) Having received it our feet are able to stand firm when the enemy strikes. We know for certain that the Lord is faithful and will deliver us at the appointed time. (1Sa 2:9, 2Sa 22:34, and Ps 40:2) Experiencing His guidance and peace firsthand gives testimonies hold power, truth, and comfort that we must extend to others by sharing the good news - The Gospel of Jesus Christ. (Isa 52:7)
