Get a Bigger Bag
This morning I was out of sync and a bit stressed. I was in the kitchen trying to squeeze in couple of water bottles, breakfast baggy and meds in a small, real small brown paper bag. Things were just not fitting in; I could sense feelings of frustration were starting to rise in me. This bag worked fine for the past couple of weeks what was with it today! I paused, I had 3 choices: leave everything behind, take only what fits in the small brown bag or use a bigger bag. I reached for a bigger bag and voila all my items went in effortlessly.
Sometimes we try to fit God in a small brown paper bag and get frustrated because He doesn’t. In those moments we have 3 choices: leave God, take only the scriptures that suite our lifestyle or get a bigger view of Him and embrace the fact that He cannot be bagged or boxed. The reason why my small brown bag did not work anymore is because I had one extra item and since I needed it I had to get a bigger bag. There always comes a time when God wants us to stretch, step out of our comfort and expand our faith; a time when He has one more thing for us, one more blessing, one more victory. If you feel out of sync and what God is doing doesn’t fit in the current brown bag vision for your life – expand, get a bigger bag.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” Jeremiah 29:11
