This year I really want to share the Lent season with my three year old daughter. For many Lent is associated with giving up something. For me this year is about gaining a new perspective, experiencing faith through her eyes. I want to allow my daughter's observations and questions to color my walk with Jesus during this season.
I extend an invitation to moms, dads, grandparents, aunts or uncles to take on this journey and experience Lent through the eyes of children.

Today was our 1st day and my daughter asked - ‘Mom are you going to be a teacher now? You know teachers do these kinds of things.’ The answer flew right out of me ‘No, I’m not a teacher. I’m just your mom.’ Later during my reflection this verse came to mind – “These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” Deut 6:6-7
“Just” moms and dads are children’s very first teachers. They learn from us not only basic skills and words but how to live and process life. The responsibility to influence and excite them about God and His word has been given to parents - the 1st teachers.
This was her first splash of color on my walk with Jesus this season. Share what was yours.
Walk with God and glorify His name.
