Day19: Praying For the Church & Its Leaders
Reading plan for today: Jn17:20-21, Ro1:9, Eph1:15-17, 3:14-16, Php1:3-6, Col1:3-5, 4:12, 1Th1:2-3
As Christians we are part of a body of believers – the church. We are to build one another into spiritual maturity, so that we are prepared for works of service that God has planned for us. Our gifts are different and that is what makes it so important that we work together as one “body”. Today I encourage you to spend time praying for the church you attend and its leaders.
Heavenly Father, thank you for providing us with church community that helps us grow in our faith and supports us when life is difficult to bear. Thank you for the faithful ministers, elders, Sunday school teachers and all other individuals in leadership positions. Please protect and guide them as they lead our congregation and teach us your word. May your anointing fall fresh on them, so they can be more effective and courageous in their efforts of reaching others for Christ. God I also pray that you will help us as a congregation to grow in our faith and serve one another and the community we live in more effectively. Bless the times we spend together in worship, ministry, celebrations and even sorrows. Guide us into the path you want us to take in order to reach the ones you have chosen before the foundation of the earth. Father God, I especially pray that you will protect and minister to our senior pastor as he is the one who is in the frontline tending and feeding the sheep you have entrusted him/her with. Bless his/her spouse as she/he is being supportive of their service, watch over their marriage and keep it safe from the attacks of the enemy. Lord, thank you for the way you have blessed our congregation so far, please continue to sanctify our families and friendships, give us strength in the face of adversities and may we not give in to the temptations and deceits of the enemy. Thank you Father for providing us with a family of faithful Christians. May we be changed into Christlikeness so your name be glorified. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
Walk with God and glorify His name.
My prayer is that this will be a place where you find hope and nourishment for your soul.
