Day 1 - How often should we pray?
How often should we pray? – Continually! (Read 1Thesalonians5:16-18)
This does not mean that we should be on our knees or stand with our hands lifted up at all times. It means that we need to be in constant communion with God as He is at our side at all hours. (Read Jas5:13) Some examples what this may look like in everyday living:
“Dear God, the worries over our finances has really taken over my thoughts and I am not able to concentrate on my work, I believe that you are our provider and will never forsake us. I place my worries at your feet and ask for your peace and joy at this time, so I can concentrate on completing my tasks at work to your honor and glory. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”
Dear God thank for the opportunity to have a wonderful tea time with my friends. Please bless each one of them. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”
Prayer filled life simply means - life of dependence and submission to the Lord; unfortunately it does not come easily, it takes trust, determination, and practice. We are to extend our sincere prayers to God in all circumstances and occasions.(Read Eph 6:18) Prayer is the life of the soul; it is how our hearts have communion with our Father in Heaven.
To you God I lift up my soul; in you I choose to place my trust. Thank you for redeeming my soul; not condemning but allowing me to take refuge in you. My Savior show me your ways, teach me your paths, and guide me in your truth. God may the Holy Spirit help me in my weaknesses, so I don’t seek acceptance from others or compare myself to them but discover true freedom in Christ. Father, protect me from discouragement and bitterness when my prayer journey encounters difficulties. Help me to walk by faith in you and keep my devotion in prayer. Grant me strength and bless me with peace. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
In the next 21 days with the help of God let us make prayer a habit, let’s pump life into our souls
Walk with God and glorify His name,
My prayer is that this will be a place where you find hope and nourishment for your soul.
